Why did we do it?
Botanical processors using alcohol-based extraction face high energy and operating costs, long processing times, and losses of valuable plant-derived compounds. Conventional methods can rely on extremely low temperatures and multiple downstream filtration or purification steps to control chlorophyll, waxes, and other unwanted compounds.
These additional steps increase energy use, processing complexity, consumable waste and product loss. We saw a need for a more efficient way to improve quality, throughput and recovery while allowing processors to continue using the extraction equipment they have already invested in.
That need led to PXLR.
PathX provides botanical processors with an add-on process-enhancement system that integrates with existing alcohol-based extraction equipment rather than requiring replacement of the full processing line. PXLR works within the existing ethanol-based processing workflow, positioned after extraction and before ethanol recovery, to support the removal of unwanted chlorophyll and waxes, reduce cooling demand and lessen reliance on additional downstream purification while supporting recovery of valuable plant-derived compounds, with validated 72 – 92% chlorophyll-reduction and waxes performance, flexible deployment and lower energy demand, PathX offers a practical process-enhancement solution for botanical and agri-food processing.
For processors, this can mean lower energy and operating costs, shorter processing times, less product loss, higher throughput, improved recovery and a simpler processing workflow.
Joe Fida

Founder & CEO
Joe Fida, a chemical engineer with extensive experience in process innovation and ethanol extraction operations, leads PathX Solutions as CEO. His background includes six years as Chief Innovation Officer in air purification and leadership roles in extraction operations, where he identified key inefficiencies in ethanol-based processing. His engineering expertise led to the development of PXLR to improve process efficiency, reduce energy demand and support more consistent botanical processing.
Chrissy Knight

Founder & Director of Communications
Chrissy Knight brings more than 10 years of experience in communications, business development and commercialization across U.S. and Canadian markets. She supports PathX in bringing practical, cost-conscious solutions to ethanol extraction, botanical processing and agri-food operations, with a focus on helping processors improve efficiency, reduce operating pressures and get more from existing systems.
Zara Parsa

Director of Innovation & Technology
Zara Parsa is a PhD chemical engineer with expertise in process development, separation and purification, experimental design, and process scale-up. A Toronto Metropolitan University graduate, Zara joined PathX through her connection with fellow TMU alumni Joe Fida and Talha Ince. At PathX, she has played a key role in developing and optimizing chlorophyll-removal and purification technologies, supporting equipment selection, process integration, performance validation, and scale-up toward industrial applications. Her work helps improve product recovery, energy efficiency, and overall process performance while advancing practical, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
Talha Ince

Founder & Director of Research
Talha Ince is a chemical engineer focused on quality assurance, research and process optimization for ethanol extraction. He has played a key role in experimental design, proof-of-concept testing and optimizing PXLR performance. Talha supports PathX’s technical development and validation across ethanol-based botanical extraction and processing applications.
Olga Odinok

Ecommerce & Content Developer
Olga Odinok is pursuing a master’s degree in digital design and brings experience in website development and e-commerce management. Her creative and technical expertise supports PathX Solutions’ digital presence, helping communicate PXLR technology, ethanol extraction solutions and ethanol-based botanical processing to customers, partners and industry stakeholders.
